LAHORE
The wife and the mother-in-law of victim Faizan, who was killed by CIA spy Raymond Davis last year, were killed at their residence allegedly by Faizan’s father-in-law over domestic dispute in the Township police limits on Monday noon.
Police removed the bodies to morgue for autopsy but no case was registered till the filing of this report. The accused was also at large till the filing of the report.
Zohra, wife of victim Faizan, and his mother-in-law, Nabila, were residents of 51-B-I Johar Town. A police officer claimed that the victim women were murdered by Faizan’s father-in-law, Shahzad Butt, over the issue of second marriage of Zohra. The victim Zohra is been survived by minor (son).
The police official added the family members used to quarrel with each other over the same issue. The domestic dispute turned violent on Monday after which accused Shahzad opened fire at his wife in the presence of his five daughters. Zohra tried to escape from the scene but thee accused followed her and killed her in the street. After killing both women, the accused managed to flee from the scene.
Locals of the area, after hearing bullet shots, informed police. Local police and Rescue 1122 reached the scene immediately. A Rescue official said that both women were found dead in a pool of blood. He added that forensic experts of Lahore Police had collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and removed the bodies to morgue.
The police also cordoned off the entire area and started search and investigation for hunting the accused. A local of the area said that Faizan’s family had shifted to Johar Town recently after he was killed by US spy Raymond Davis on January 27, 2011 at Mozang Chungi, Lahore.
Sub-inspector, Iqbal, of Township Police said that Faizan’s mother-in-law Nabila wanted the second marriage of her widow daughter with a man settled in Dubai but her husband Shahzad Butt did not agreed with his wife in this regard.
The daughters of accused person have also recorded their statements before the police that their father had killed their mother and sister. SP Operations Athar Waheed on the issue said that it had been initially confirmed that the women had been killed by Shahzad Butt. He added that the relatives of victim family had also stated before the police that the accused and victim used to quarrel over the issue of second marriage of Faizan’s wife, Zohra. A case would be registered after receiving a complaint from victim’s family, he said and added that police were conducting raids to arrest the accused.
