The passengers at the Karachi airport boarding PK-731 to Jeddah escaped an untoward incident as the jetty from the lounge to the aircraft collapsed on Sunday.
Airport officials said that jetty No. 25 had collapsed; however there was no casualty as all the passengers had already boarded the plane.
Officials further said that there was no damage to the aircraft either.
Meanwhile, the director-general of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
The principal director of airport services (CAA) will conduct the inquiry and submit its report to the director-general in three days.
