Renowned TV actor Ibrahim Nafees dies - The Nation, Pakistan

KARACHI  - Renowned TV, film and theatre artist Ibrahim Nafees breathed his last on Sunday after protracted illness. He was 72.
Nafees had been under treatment at a private hospital since April 28. He was suffering from various infections and lost his vision after an injury two years ago.
Born and raised in Agra, India, Nafees got preliminary education from Jaunpur. Nafees started his career as an actor on Radio Pakistan, Hyderabad.
The versatile actor played scores of character roles in movies and stage dramas. He also played key roles in more than 250 films and TV plays. Nafees was among the few actors in Pakistan who got training in drama acting in the UK.
He played many memorable roles in films. One of his best performances was in the movie ‘Heera aur Pathar’, which was a very popular movie with Waheed Murad in the lead role.
‘Aik Haqeeqat So Afsanay’ and ‘Afshan’ were top TV serials in which he performed.
Ibrahim Nafees also played an unforgettable character in one of the most popular comedy stage dramas ‘Bakra Qiston Pay’ along with comedy king Umar Sharif.
